ADA Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Inmate Reviews is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Many people affected by incarceration live with a disability, and they deserve the same access to information and the same chance to be heard.

1. Our Standard

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, as our target. These guidelines explain how to make web content work for people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have limited movement, speech, learning, or cognitive abilities.

We consider the site partially conformant. That means most of it is designed to meet the standard, but some parts may not fully meet it yet.

2. What We Do

Measures we take include:

  • Building pages with standard headings, labeled navigation, and labeled form fields so screen readers can follow them
  • Setting each page’s language so assistive technology reads English and Spanish pages correctly
  • Offering the full site in English and Spanish
  • Designing pages to work on phones and tablets and when text is enlarged with browser zoom
  • Using high-contrast navy and white for most text
  • Showing form errors as text, not only as color
  • Avoiding flashing content and audio that plays on its own
  • Reviewing new features for accessibility as we build them

3. Known Limitations

Some content comes from other people or other companies, and we cannot always control how accessible it is:

  • Reviews, replies, and job listings are written by users and may lack structure or contain errors.
  • GIFs are supplied by a third-party service and may not include text descriptions.
  • Advertiser listings, including logos and descriptions, are provided by the businesses themselves.
  • Payment pages run by PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and other providers follow those companies’ own accessibility practices.
  • Maps and directions open in third-party services.
  • Some PDF documents may not be fully accessible.

If any of these keep you from getting information or completing a task, contact us and we will help.

4. Get Help or Give Feedback

If you have trouble using any part of Inmate Reviews, or you have a suggestion, please tell us through the Contact page. It helps to include:

  • The web address of the page
  • What you were trying to do and what went wrong
  • The device, browser, and any assistive technology you use, such as a screen reader or voice control

We aim to respond within 5 business days. If something is not accessible to you, we will work with you to provide the information or complete the task another way. For example, we can send content as plain text by email or help you submit a review.

5. Ongoing Work

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time project. We review the site as we add features and fix problems as we find them. This statement was last reviewed on the date shown at the top of this page.
